With the end of the season approaching in the girls 9-10 junior league, two teams picked up big wins Monday night at Hoover and Millraney Field.
TN Warehouse toppled Ramirez Transport 21-4 and Roger’s Service Company downed L&M Floors 13-2.
Monday was the beginning of the final week of the regular season and TN Warehouse and Roger’s Service Company each took steps in securing better spots for the tournament.
While neither can catch undefeated Ben Lomand Connect in the standings, Monday’s wins put the teams in prime position to avoid a matchup with the top seed in the opening round of the tournament.
Elia Atterson played a big part in the win for TN Warehouse as she finished with two hits from her lead-off position and pitched all three innings to earn the victory.
Alora Stuart, Cierra Martin and Hannah Corley joined Atterson with two hits for TN Warehouse. Stuart’s first hit was a two-run, inside-the-park home run in the first inning. Kinsley Lorance and Mallory Shelton had one hit apiece for TN Warehouse.
Atterson finished with seven strikeouts, including striking out the side in the third, while allowing just two hits to Ramirez Transport.
Nuca Ramirez and Kendall Pendergraph each had hits for Ramirez Transport. Linlee Wanamaker and Taylor Pegg each pitched for Ramirez Transport.
In the second game Monday, Rhealee Johnson’s two hits and three solid innings of work, including six strikeouts, in the circle led Roger’s Service Company to an 11- run victory.
Johnson had her first hit during a three-run first inning for Roger’s Service Company. Her two-run double in the second inning gave Roger’s Service Company a commanding 8-1 lead. Roger’s Service Company scored its last five runs on walks.
Kaydee Rains added two hits for Roger’s Service Company while Ella Bond finished with one.
Said Simmons and Sara Ruiz each had RBI hits for L&M Floors. Simmons took the loss as she pitched four innings.
