Carmelita Caro Crisp passed away at the age of 74, on May 6, 2024 after a long illness. She is preceded in death by husband, Orville Lee Crisp; parents, Potenciano and Carolina Caro; and siblings, Alejandro Caro, Potenciano Caro Jr., Romeo Caro, Domingo Caro and Mary Estigoy.
She is survived by children, Gina Gapasin, Catherine Crisp and Christine Crisp; grandchildren, Nathan and Roen Randall; siblings, Visitacion Duat, Norma Eben, Fernando Caro, Lily Gaytan, Milagros Connell and numerous nieces and nephews in California, Texas and Tennessee
Carmelita was born on Dec 16, 1949 in Naguilian Isabela, Philippines. She graduated college with a bachelor's degree in education from St. Ferdinand College, Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in 1970. Carmelita moved to McMinnville from California in 1991 with her husband and three daughters. She worked in Manufacturing at Magnetek/Century and A.O. Smith for close to 20 years before retiring. Carmelita loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, crocheting and cooking. She would welcome family and friends to her home to enjoy authentic Filipino cuisine - homemade eggrolls, noodles and rice dishes. In her retirement, she was able to become fully involved in her church, St. Catherine's. She was a member of The Altar Society, The Faith Sharing Group and supported activities hosted by the church, where she was able to spend time with her close friends. She was loved by many for her compassion, values, kindness and sense of humor and made a huge impact on her family, friends and community by her ways in life of serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
Services will be at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in McMinnville on Monday May 13. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. with mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Gardens of Memory. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
