Mr. Allen K. Grissom, 90, of Rock Island died Monday, Dec. 8, in Madison, Ala. He was born March 2, 1924, in Rock Island, was the former president of Rockford Industries, a veteran of the U.S. Army with service during World War II, a member of the Masonic Order, and member and Past Commander of VFW Post 5064. 
Mr. Grissom was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Louise Kell Grissom, wife Juanita Black Grissom, brother Sammy Grissom, and sisters Lois Bailey and Lyla Grissom.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law Dyer and Nell Grissom of Rock Island, life partner Donna Jean White, grandsons Nathan White and Logan Lewerenz, several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Dunlap will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military grave rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and the VFW Post 5064. The Grissom family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
