A man who led police on a chase has been sentenced to 60 days at Warren County Jail and will serve the remainder of his two-year sentence on probation.
Robert Mitchell Orr III, 53, appeared in front of Judge Bart Stanley for several charges with the most severe being evading arrest with risk of death or injury with a vehicle involved.
The arrest warrant states in October 2018, deputy Jared Jacobs observed a motorcycle being driven by Orr that matched the description of one that fled a traffic stop by deputy Tyler Glenn on Pearsall Road traveling on Beersheba Highway near East Main Street.
Jacobs activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed on Beersheba Highway. Orr continued to not yield for approximately 14 minutes before he crashed at the intersection of Hennessee Bridge Road and Old Rock Island Road.
When Jacobs checked Orr’s license, it was confirmed to be revoked for multiple reasons out of Warren County. The roadway was occupied by other motorists that had to avoid the motorcycle when it failed to yield.
