A Cannon County woman was killed Friday evening when her vehicle struck a telephone pole after she ran off of Short Mountain Road. The woman, Charity Simons, 30, was pronounced dead on arrival at River Park Hospital. Investigators say she had just dropped off her two small children at her father-in-law’s home moments earlier and was heading home to sleep ahead of her morning work shift.
