Woman jailed for pharmacy scam

A Walgreens employee who leaked classified drug numbers to her friends so they could illegally obtain thousands of pills from the pharmacy will serve six months in jail.The insider, Lori Michelle Hale, was sentenced to serve six months of a three-year sentence after she entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to six counts of fraudulently obtaining drugs. She must also pay $2,000 plus costs and perform 48 hours public service work.Her sentence comes after prosecutors say she was responsible for illegally putting thousands of pills on the street by revealing secret doctor identification codes to several people. The people who were given the codes would then call the pharmacy where Hale was working and order drugs using the secret IDs.
