A woman was given probation after she pawned her boyfriend’s belongings while he was behind bars.
The girlfriend, Paula Faye Hite, 50, was handed an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence after entering a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke on the charge of theft. She was also ordered to make restitution her boyfriend for the goods she stole from him and she was warned to stay away from both he and his home.
She was charged after the victim, Stanley Overpeck Jr., got out of Warren County Jail to find many of his belongings missing. McMinnville Police Investigator Barry Powers began working on the case and found out that the missing items had been pawned at Cash-4-U Pawn. The items included tools and household property. Also missing were over 400 videos.
Powers said he then found the guilty party based on the pawn tickets.
“I was able to locate multiple pawn tickets on file with Cash-4-U Pawn showing Paula Faye Hite as the person making the pawns,” Powers noted
