Warren County High School has been bugged, but it’s not the kind of bug you install to secretly obtain information. Instead, this high-tech installation is the kind that provides information — specifically weather data — that is sent around the world. It’s called WeatherBug, and the school had it installed in June to became part of a global weather and lightning observation network. WeatherBug is the leading provider of consumer and professional weather products and services, and once the installation was complete, WCHS joined the WeatherBug Schools Program. The project was the brainchild of WCHS geography teacher Jacob Dunn, who said the goal is to get his students interested in global weather.“This is my fourth year here at WCHS, and in teaching geography we always talk about the weather,” Dunn said.
