An insurance offer to protect homeowners from the cost of fixing water line breaks is not affiliated in any way with the city of McMinnville.“Obviously, there are companies out there that ask homeowners to buy an insurance policy and they will repair or replace the lines from your home to the meter if they blow out,” said McMinnville Water Department director Bill Brock.One such company, American Water Resources of Tennessee, has sent a letter to the city informing officials it will soon be mailing McMinnville homeowners information regarding its services.“I don’t know when they plan on doing this, but I think people need to be aware this is not the city,” said Brock. “I just have a feeling when the letters go out it’s going to create confusion. Some people will question why the city is sending these letters out.
