A teen is being held under a quarter million dollar bond after he allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl over the weekend.The suspect, Matthew L. Thomas, 18, is charged with rape of a child. He is due to appear before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke on Oct. 21 for preliminary hearing.He is charged with taking the 10-year-old girl to a wooded location near his house on Occee Drive and having sex with the child. The young girl suffered injuries from the sexual assault and reportedly had to be treated.The crime is a Class A felony meaning Thomas could face 15 to 25 years in prison for the crime.
