For individuals planning to do some interstate traveling this Easter holiday weekend, the Tennessee Department of Transportation has some good news.
“In observance of the Easter holiday period, TDOT crews and contractors will stop all road construction work that requires interstate lane closures beginning Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. through Monday, April 21 at 6 p.m.,” said TDOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn.
The news may not mean much to local residents who plan to stay put. However, news of significance is two state route projects that affect Warren County are on track for completion.
Opening of the new four-lane between Warren County and Cannon County is still scheduled for September 2014.
Flynn says bridge repair work over Mountain Creek on State Route 56 just past Dibrell Elementary School is still scheduled to be complete next month.
“The bridge currently is down to only one lane of traffic, and it is being maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public,” she said. “Motorist should expect delays up to six minutes. Project completion date is May 2014.”
