NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee woman is charged with pointing a weapon later found to be a BB gun at two police officers who shot her when she wouldn't drop it.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 34-year-old Samantha Rediker pointed the gun at two White House police officers in June. Police were responding to a reported domestic situation involving Rediker and her wife.
TBI said Thursday the officers told Rediker multiple times to drop the gun. When she didn't comply, the officers fired and hit her. She was treated and released.
TBI says the Robertson County Grand Jury returned indictments last week charging Rediker with two assault counts. Authorities arrested her Wednesday and booked her into Robertson County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
It wasn't immediately clear if Rediker had an attorney.
