CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a Tennessee man who stole over $75,000 of equipment and is responsible for $10,000 in damage to a daycare is on the run.
WSMV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2rChqZC ) that the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Thomas Nelson is wanted on three counts of theft, two counts of vandalism, burglary and evading arrest. Nelson crashed into the outside of Priceless Jewels Daycare in Clarksville on Monday morning. Four children and three teachers were inside the daycare at the time. Nelson was being pursued by someone who saw him steal equipment, but was able to get free after the crash.
Police have connected Nelson with several other burglaries, including two last week.
His wife has been arrested, but it's unclear on what charges and if she has a lawyer.
