The Southern Standard has been recognized with the Lighthouse Award for Media Excellence in Tennessee by the American Cancer Society’s Mid-South Division. The award was presented by American Cancer Society community representative Marlene Delong and Warren County Relay for Life Committee chairman Dwight Burch.The award recognizes outstanding contributions to promoting the fight against cancer through both print and electronic media during the last fiscal year. Media outlets are nominated based on coverage they have dedicated to cancer news and public service messages they have placed for the American Cancer Society.
