The McMinnville Fire Department responds to a call at 2:38 p.m. Monday afternoon during a snowstorm which brought most local traffic to a crawl.

When everything else shuts down for bad weather, first responders still have to brave the cold.

The McMinnville Fire Department (MFD) did just that on Monday. The B-Shift from Station One and Station Two were answering calls in the height of the snowy weather, but said they were just doing what they do.

First responders responded to various calls on Monday including a multiple vehicle accident on Creek Lane. Firefighter Adam Whitman said they also responded to a fire alarm and a few medical calls Monday evening. Whitman expected calls to pick up once the sun went down and driving conditions worsened.

The MFD hopes everyone stays safe in the winter weather.
