Shirts bring awareness to child abuse

Warren County residents were encouraged to wear blue shirts on Friday, a show of support to bring awareness to the fight against child abuse.The day was called “Shirts to Stop the Hurts.” It drew the attention of General Sessions Judge Bill Locke, Warren County Executive John Pelham and staff at the office of District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis, among others.“April’s National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a recognition of the collaboration that’s needed to help prevent child abuse and neglect,” said Zavogiannis. “It requires everyone working together.”Zavogiannis says her schedule for the next two months is filled with dates in which she will visit schools to educate students about child abuse and the dangers of drug use.“The next two months will be a lot of work for me, but I love it,” she said.
