The McMinnville-Warren County Senior Center will be holding three informational events this week at the facility, located at 809 Morrison Street, according to executive director Cheryl Mingle.The first will be “Welcome to Medicare” classes which will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. If you are turning 65 soon and are confused about Medicare benefits and choices the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is conducting a class for Upper Cumberland residents entering the confusing world of Medicare. Classes will consist of training on Parts A, B, C & D, as well as Medigap (supplement) policies and ways to prevent Medicare fraud. SHIP is a federally funded program administered locally at the Upper Cumberland Development District and provides free and objective counseling to all Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers.
