McMinnville Police Department has retired a member of its force. The Segway was sold and two bicycles recently took its place.The department obtained the personal transporter in 2008 under former McMinnville Police Chief Charlie Sewell as part of his community involvement efforts. Its purpose was to increase positive interaction between the public and the police department while officers patrolled parks and special event.
