Schultz sentenced for alcohol-fueled attack

A 45-day sentence has been handed down against a man who choked his wife and her 12-year-old son during a drunken rage.The man, John Wesley Schultz Jr., 28, was ordered by Judge Bill Locke to serve 45 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, undergo a drug and alcohol assessment, and enter the batterer intervention program for domestic assault and interference with emergency calls. That sentence will be served in addition to 30 days he faces for an incident between him and a policeman outside of River Park Hospital recently.His most recent sentence comes after he returned home drunk and grabbed his wife, ripping off her shirt. Her son, who witnessed the incident, tried to run away but was caught.
