Russell gets max for seventh offense driving on revoked

The court threw the book at a repeat traffic offender, sentencing him to the maximum jail term for his seventh offense.The defendant, John Russell, was issued an 11-month, 29-day sentence by General Sessions Judge Larry Ross during traffic court on the charge of seventh-offense driving on a revoked license. His sentence will be served in addition to time he owes in neighboring Van Buren County. He will also be required to pay $302 and lose his driver license privileges for a year.In other traffic court arraignment action:• Christopher S. Jones was ordered to serve five days of an 11-29 sentence, pay $2,560, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI school and lose his driver license for one year for DUI and simple possession of drugs.• Charles Matheney was directed to serve four days of an 11-29 sentence, pay $2,180, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI school and lose his driver license for one year for DUI and possession of marijuana.• Juan Cruz Sliva was ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence, pay $1,281, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI school and lose his driver license for one year for DUI and driving without insurance.• Herbert Figueroa and Ambrocio Mireles were directed to serve 48 hours of 11-29 sentences, pay $1,109, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI School and lose driving privileges for one year for DUI.• Terry McCormick was bound to the grand jury on the charge of driving on a suspended license.• Aaron O’Dineal was bound to the grand jury on the charge of driving on a suspended license.• Michael Davis was instructed to pay $413 for violation of the open container law and driving without insurance.• Walter Murphy was directed to serve 48 hours of a six-month sentence, pay $389 and lose his driver license for one year for driving on a revoked license.
