Main Street McMinnville and the McMinnville Milers running club recently purchased a trailer from McMinnville Trailer Sales.
Commissioner Blaine Wilcher, who is president of the McMinnville Milers and serves on the Main Street McMinnville board, said club members purchased the trailer to haul their timers, tables, coolers, chairs, signs, etc.
“We wanted to keep the money in McMinnville. We could have probably found a trailer outside of the county, but we wanted the money to stay here. We believe in Try Here Buy Here,” said Wilcher.
Carla King, executive director of Main Street McMinnville, said, “The trailer will make it easier to transport racing equipment from one race to another. Main Street McMinnville is all about Try Here Buy Here. We want to keep it local.”
Main Street McMinnville sponsors the Downtown After Dark 5K in July, the Cumberland Caverns 5K in September, and the Rock Island Five Miler in October.
“We also help with other races,” said King. “This trailer will definitely help with holding the timing equipment and will make it more convenient going from race to race.”
Wilcher said the McMinnville Milers are in the process of obtaining quotes for adding their logo to the sides of the trailer. “We will have that work done by someone locally also,” he said.
McMinnville Trailer Sales offers a wide selection of trailers, including utility trailers, car haulers, equipment and gooseneck trailers. The business also offers a variety of cargo and dump trailers and has the ability to customize trailers. The company provides service and maintenance for trailers such as wiring, lighting, brake control boxes, repacking bearings and trailer brake repairs.
McMinnville Trailer Sales is located at 8585 Smithville Highway. It can be reached at 934-9393.
