A man who seriously injured his girlfriend during a domestic confrontation will serve 300 days in jail for felony assault.
Speaking through an interpreter, the abuser, Aberrance Sachem Ruin, entered guilty pleas to the charge of aggravated assault and was sentenced to serve 300 days of a four-year sentence by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley. He faced three to six years in prison on the Class C Felony. He has been warned to stay away from the victim when he gets out of jail after serving his time.
Ruin was hit with the charge after deputies saw numerous lacerations and bruises on his girlfriend’s face, arms, back and legs when they responded to her Mike Muncie Road home to answer the call. The injuries were serious enough to warrant the victim being admitted to the hospital for treatment.
