Officials at River Park gathered Monday morning to kick off National Hospital Week in grand fashion.County Executive John Pelham and Fairest of the Fair Kaitlin Lawrence were among the people on hand as National Hospital Week is recognized May 12-18.“This is a way for us to show our appreciation of what River Park does not only for our community, but in serving a multi-county area,” said Pelham. “It’s nice to recognize the people who work here who make this hospital a special place.”Pelham praised the hospital for providing “reliable and trustworthy healthcare” and he applauded River Park employees.The theme for National Hospital Week is “Guiding Light for Changing Times.”River Park CEO Tim McGill said he appreciates the commitment made by hospital employees to provide quality, around-the-clock care.New River Park human resources director Teresa Atnip says people think of doctors and nurses when it comes to hospitals, but it takes much more than that to keep a hospital running. She listed food service workers, security guards, and maintenance crews as just a few of those people.
