A local principal was attacked last week in a parking lot in Woodbury after refereeing a football game.Warren County Middle School principal Gerald Tidwell fended off the attack and hospitalized the man who jumped him, according to a report from Woodbury Police Department.The incident took place Thursday night after Tidwell served as one of the referees in a middle school football game. The attack had nothing to do with the football game as the men knew each other.Tidwell faces no charges as it was determined he acted in self-defense. The other man, Jeff Smith, was cited for disorderly conduct as Tidwell opted not to press assault charges.
