Polls open around the county Thursday as voters cast their ballots for races which will include electing a new General Sessions Judge and three members of the School Board. The polls will be open at normal precincts from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those who did not take advantage of early voting.Early voting ended Saturday with 2,852 people voting. There were 1,672 who voted in the Democratic Primary, and 1,058 who voted in the Republic Primary in Warren County. While local turnout was about average, statewide early voting set a record with 223,281 casting early ballots. With early voting going smoothly, election administrator Donna Smith is hoping election day Thursday will go without a hitch, although she wants voters to remember there are about 1,000 people who may be voting at a new precinct due to reapportionment.“If you received a new card in the mail, that means your precinct has changed,” Smith said, noting if people have questions about where they vote, they should call the election office at 473-5834.
