Bringing the magic of a performing arts center to McMinnville has been a goal for members of the Park Theatre Group since the organization formed over 10 years ago.That goal is inching closer to being achieved as AEI Architects of Cookeville is preparing bid documents for the historic Main Street facility. When those bid documents are complete in an estimated five more months, they will be one of the last pre-construction steps before renovation can begin.The renovation work would then be let out for bids and McMinnville city officials would have to approve funding for the lowest and best bid before work could start. Those are still two hurdles to clear, but the end to all the legwork finally appears in sight.“Our purpose from the very beginning has been to provide something for this community which is currently lacking,” said Park Theatre Group member David Marttala.
