A measure to demolish the Blue Building’s gymnasium and auditorium will be under consideration by Historic Zoning Commission members Monday at 10:30 a.m.Being located within the city’s historic district, the city must request a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Zoning Commission before demolition can be done.McMinnville officials have already agreed to allocate the funds requested by architect and engineering firm AEI to generate plans on removal of the two structures. This will also include protection measures for the main building. The cost for the plans is $23,000.
