From educators to business professionals, the Southern Standard has honored 20 community leaders during our annual Women of Achievement banquet.
The banquet, held last week at Falcon Rest, was highlighted by awarding Chitra Mukherji with the title of 2012 Woman of Achievement. She was selected for her volunteer efforts.
“Every year I’m impressed with the caliber of candidates we have nominated for this award,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman. “People always talk about Warren County being a great place to live and raise a family, and these ladies are a big reason why. They contribute to our community and make it stronger.”
The Standard accepts nominations for about two months prior to selecting the women to honor.
All 20 Women of Achievement nominees were treated to dinner at Falcon Rest courtesy of the Standard and presented with a decorative clock to recognize their accomplishment. Their family members were also encouraged to attend.
The Standard has published a special 24-page section featuring stories about all 20 of these special ladies. It is available inside today’s edition.
