Mud Bums has reopened for business after being closed for nearly three weeks due to fire. The popular restaurant at Northgate Center reopened Tuesday at 5 p.m., with a grand reopening celebration planned for this Saturday. The fire struck Friday night, Aug. 1, just as restaurant employees were preparing for the dinner rush. It was an electrical fire that started in a rear wall near the breaker boxes.“Those first few days were really distressing because this is our livelihood and we didn’t know what was going to happen,” said Donna Turner, who owns Mud Bums with her husband, Charlie. “I can’t say enough about the people who have come in here and worked for free to help us clean up and get reopened.
