Next week is Public Power Week and McMinnville Electric System is celebrating along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 47 million Americans. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of MES.To commemorate Public Power Week, Oct. 5-11, and its 75th anniversary, MES is holding a community celebration Thursday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend for food, fun and prizes. Presentations will be held at noon.
