Cody McCarver will be in concert this Saturday at the grandstand in Viola in a show that will benefit Lake Hillis.Gates open at 4 p.m. with the concert scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Admission is $10.McCarver will also be shooting a music video for his new song “Redneck Friends of Mine” and is asking people to show up to be extras in the video. He says local residents with four-wheelers and off-road vehicles are especially needed as shots of those will be used in the video.McCarver enjoyed a successful career with Confederate Railroad before embarking on a solo career in July 2010. Since then, he has been featured in a motion picture “Cole Younger and the Black Train” and released songs and music videos.He is hoping for a large crowd as concert proceeds will benefit Hillis, a 15-year-old Warren County High School sophomore who was injured in a Sept. 8 four-wheeler crash during an organized race at the White County Fair.Hillis was initially treated at Vanderbilt for a severe head injury and has been undergoing therapy at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta since Sept. 23.
