Martin gets 30 days for holiday cheer

A man will serve 30 days for public intoxication after he was arrested for wishing passing motorists Merry Christmas this holiday season.The man, Danny Ray Martin, 47, was handed his usual sentence by Special Judge Barry Medley, that being 30 days in jail. He has long since been placed on the no-probation list meaning he generally gets the maximum 30 days behind bars for public intoxication. Since he is homeless, he will not be charged a fine or court costs.Martin was arrested after police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated man yelling at cars in the downtown area just before Christmas.
