Man sentenced for argument with wife

An argument with his pregnant wife about another woman will cost a man 45 days in jail.The husband, Matthew Gerald Edwards, 24, entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to charges of domestic assault and reckless endangerment. He was ordered to serve 45 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and must undergo a mental health evaluation.His sentence comes after a dispute with his wife as they, along with her young son, were traveling on Seitz Street with her behind the wheel.“They were arguing about another woman,” said McMinnville policewoman Rachel Nichols of what began the fight as they were heading down the street.During the argument, as she was still driving, her husband grabbed her by the neck.“He grabbed her by the neck and had his fist clenched as if to strike her in the face,” Nichols said. “He then pulled the emergency brake and the vehicle came to a stop.”The car came to a sudden stop in the middle of the road after he pulled the emergency brake.
