HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police in Hendersonville say a man died Sunday night after he broke into his ex-girlfriend's house and exchanged gunfire with the woman's son.
Police told WSMV-TV in Nashville (http://bit.ly/1mBog9h) that 36-year-old Brian Davidson of Charlotte forced his way into the home of Shawna Brush on just after 8 p.m.
After realizing Davidson was in the house, police say the woman's 18-year-old son, Connor Brush, grabbed his gun and exchanged gunfire with Davidson while the rest of the family escaped.
Police say Davidson had come to the home with the intention of hurting Shawna Brush.
The first police units arriving at the scene heard the gunfire. When they entered the home, they found Davidson dead.
Police are investigating whether Connor Brush shot Davidson or if died from a self-inflicted wound.
