A man was injured Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle rolled over after he was run off the road by a speeding car.

The victim, Jeremy W. Campbell, 42, suffered non-life-threatening injuries late Wednesday afternoon in the crash that happened near the intersection of Red Road and Pace Street.

According to police reports, Campbell was just turning onto Red Road from Pace Street when he saw a Dodge Neon speeding toward him, moments away from impact on the rain-slick road. Campbell said he hit the gas to accelerate out of the oncoming car’s way and avoid a crash. However, in doing so, his 1996 Chevy Blazer began spinning out of control. The SUV slid across the road and down a slight embankment before hitting a post. The vehicle then rolled, coming to rest on its wheels in the side yard of 935 Red Road.

The identity of the driver who ran him off the road is not known as he left the scene of the accident.
