Man accused of illegally tattooing girl

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A man faces a May 16 court date in Cookeville on charges he tattooed a 13-year-old girl, a misdemeanor.

Twenty-four-year-old Jimmy E. Hancock of Silver Point is accused of tattooing the word "DREAM" on the lower abdomen of the girl.

According to the Cookeville Herald-Citizen, the parents of the girl notified police.

Authorities said they had several witnesses in the case.

The paper said it is illegal to tattoo the skin of anyone under 18 for commercial purposes.
