Main Street businesses to offer trick or treats

Downtown McMinnville will be transformed by ghouls, goblins and super heroes Oct. 31 as Main Street McMinnville will be offering its annual Trick or Treat on Main Street.“Look for the picture of the orange pumpkin in the window of participating businesses,” said Main Street McMinnville executive director Carla King.Various businesses along Main Street, Morford Street, Spring Street and Sparta Street will be participating. Southern Standard on College Street will also be handing out treats.Regions Bank at 101 E. Main Street will be holding costume contests for pre-school children at 10 a.m. and for school-age children at 3:30 p.m.New to the event this year will be a spooky bus provided by Durham School Services from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “We were going to make the bus into a haunted bus and allow children to go through it,” said Durham general manager Brian Riley. “We were going to have people dressed up in costumes ready to scare them.
