A Lowe’s employee has been terminated and accused of stealing over $10,000 from his employer during his time on the job.The former employee, Kenneth King, 30, is charged with felony theft over $10,000 and is looking at two to four years in prison if he is convicted of the crime. He is set for preliminary hearing before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke just before Christmas on Dec. 22.Police were summoned to the local Lowe’s by the district manager who said they had caught King stealing from them.“The district manager, Ryan Funkhouser, told me Kenneth King had been taking money over the past few months from the store,” said McMinnville policeman Eddie Colwell in his warrant against King.Colwell then interviewed the suspect who reportedly told him how he had gotten away with stealing from the company for so many months.“He admitted to taking the money for his personal gain,” Colwell said, noting he avoided detection by hiding the transactions under customer returns. “He was cashing in receipts and acting as if someone was returning a product to Lowe’s.”The total amount of his theft has been estimated at $11,116.
