Love Loud 2012 will be held tomorrow in the parking lot of Big Lots from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will offer free admission, free musical entertainment, free food, free drinks and free games.
“We hope everyone has made plans to come out and have a good time,” said event organizer Kendra Foust. “The fun begins at 4 p.m. We want to remind everyone that everything will be free.”
There will be something for everyone to enjoy including 30 carnival games, inflatables, pizza, hot dogs, drinks, eye exams, hair cuts, clothing, door prizes, and all types of music — rap, country and contemporary Christian.
Giving a special concert performance will be Schyler Dixon. Schyler and her brother, Colton Dixon, were “American Idol” contestants. The siblings play in a Christian rock band called Messenger in Murfreesboro.
The Lions Club will be offering eye exams and trying to help people who need glasses, while clothing will be provided and accepted by Clothe My Children, a nonprofit organization from Knoxville.
The goal is to show love in the community, says DeWayne Howard, pastor of Bridges of Hope Fellowship.
“Our whole goal in this is to love the city and give back to the community,” Howard said. “This is not about our church, so much so that I wish we could just leave our name out of it. This event is about love.”
The cost of the event has been covered through donations made by individuals, churches and organizations.
