The Warren County Farmers Market annual chili cook-off was a warm and delicious way to kick off the fall season.
The annual homemade chili competition was last Saturday and some chefs showed up and put their chili to the test. Participants had to make their chili at home then bring it to the market by 9 a.m. to be judged.
Winners of the chili cook-off received trophies and the first-place winner received $100. Austin Panter won third place. Shelia Davis won second place. Marla Yoder won first place and a $100 check.
The next event at the Warren County Farmers Market is the baked pie contest. Bakers can make their best pies and bring them to the market on Saturday, Oct. 21. Those wishing to participate need to bring their pies by 9 a.m.
The Farmers Market is located at 100 Market St. and is currently open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
