The Warren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash on Manchester Highway.

The collision occurred Monday, Sept. 19 at approximately 9 a.m. at the intersection of Manchester Highway and Old Wells Road.

According to the accident report, a white Ford F-150 owned by Caney Fork and Western Railroad and driven by 44-year-old Jeremiah Hibdon was stopped at the red light. The Manchester resident was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram hauling a gooseneck trailer driven by Ryan Spears, 20, of Dunlap.

No information was given as to why Spears did not stop.

The force of the impact pushed the Ford through the intersection and crushed the rear end of the vehicle. Hibdon reportedly suffered injuries to his chest and was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital by Warren County EMS for treatment. His condition is unknown.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputy Clayton Myers, who worked the scene, says citations are pending.
