Visitors can experience the warming blanket of peace this Saturday as Isha holds its sixth annual World Peace Day at its remote retreat atop Harrison Ferry Mountain.Family friendly activities are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will feature yoga, meditation, a folksy rock concert, and a dance performance.“Peace inside a culture is so much more than not pointing guns at one another,” said Isha outreach coordinator Alison Murry. “Our effort is to create an atmosphere where people can find peace within themselves and also to create an outside environment for peace.”World Peace Day is free, although RSVP is required. Murry says 1,500 have already registered, mostly from North America, with around 2,000 guests expected. This year’s theme is the preservation of fresh water, especially rivers.
