Work on River Trail continues with volunteers' help
River-TrailWEB
Volunteers Randy Bigbee, John B. Phillips and Rob Phillips worked the day after Christmas on River Trail East covering bare earth areas of the trail with wood chips where city employees had earlier installed a culvert. Dr. Wally Bigbee organized the effort.
Preservation of River Trail East, phase one, continues. In a section of River Trail East near Cedar Street, workers from the city of McMinnville have recently installed a badly needed culvert for outflow of a large storm drain that crossed the trail as a ditch. On Monday, Dec. 26, four volunteers came and covered the bare earth areas of the trail with wood chips and made a stairway by using recycled slabs of concrete as steps.
