A woman has been given over eight months in jail for trying to smuggle drugs into Warren County Jail.The woman, Amanda M. Esslinger, 33, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of introduction of drugs into a penal institution, simple possession of meth and marijuana, criminal impersonation and violation of the seatbelt law. She was ordered to serve 250 days of a six-year sentence and pay $750 plus costs.She was arrested after the car in which she was a passenger was pulled over on Old Smithville Road after McMinnville policeman Brad Hall noticed the occupants were not wearing seatbelts. The officer said he asked her several times for an ID but she continued giving him false information until she finally broke down and gave him her Social Security number.
