Dorothea Lopez has been charged with aggravated assault for the stabbing.

A woman was stabbed at her Virginia Street home Wednesday morning after a dispute with her attacker over a text message.
The victim, Danielle Tyler, 42, was stabbed three times, suffering wounds to the face and upper chest. She was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.
Her alleged attacker, Dorothea Lopez, 59, has been charged with aggravated assault for the stabbing. She could face three to six years in prison if convicted.
According to McMinnville police reports, texts had been exchanged earlier between the women.
The victim had texted Lopez’s boyfriend not to be late due to her husband and Lopez’s boyfriend riding together to work. It is believed something in the text message exchange prompted Lopez and her boyfriend to travel from her nearby home on West Sparta Street to Tyler’s home.
“They drove to Virginia Street and confronted Ms. Tyler with the intent to fight,” the warrant reads.
Once there, a fight ensued between the women. Lopez pulled a knife during the brawl, slashing Tyler numerous times with a single-edge knife before fleeing the scene.
Lopez was arrested later. Police went to her home where a knife was found that is being analyzed.
