Lisa Hobbs photo--This SUV driven by Mary Judkins ran off the side of Crisp Springs Road and struck a utility pole Thursday night around 6 p.m. Judkins was arrested at the scene for suspicion of drunken driving. She was also found to have pills on her person at the jail.
A woman faces narcotics smuggling charges after she slammed her SUV into a utility pole Thursday night and was arrested at the scene for drunk driving.The woman, Mary Judkins, is charged with DUI and introduction of drugs into the county jail.According to Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tommy Myers, Judkins lost control of her vehicle on Crisp Springs Road, within eye shot of Old Nashville Highway near the old Red Dog.“She veered off the road and hit a pole,” Myers said. “When officers got there, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from her.”Myers said he understands Judkins already has a DUI pending in court. She failed a sobriety test at the scene and was taken into custody.
