In today’s America, active shooter preparation is becoming an essential emergency response practice for churches, organizations, businesses and schools.Warren County Schools is offering active shooter response training to help prepare individuals and give them potentially lifesaving skills. The event will be held at the WCHS auditorium this Monday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. The active shooter response seminar will be presented by McMinnville Police Department Lt. Ben Cantrell, a certified instructor in active shooter programs. The focus will be to learn how to intervene, prevent and respond during an active school shooter situation.According to Director of Schools Bobby Cox, the session was in the works prior to the Florida school shooting incident involving Nikolas Cruz, 19.“This is a community event and we would like to have as many people from the community as we can to come and hear the presentation,” said Cox.Cruz gunned down 17 people at his former high school.
