Lila Loftis, shown during the regular season, helped the Lady Pioneers to a state championship Saturday.
Perhaps the most memorable of all Warren County High School's state championships is the 1992 baseball team, which won in dramatic fashion over Germantown. It was not lost in the moment that when the WCHS girls rubgy team won the state championship Saturday in Murfreesboro it came against Germantown, 27-0."Warren County was rewarded with a really great baseball team in 1992 when we beat Germantown," said WCHS rugby coach George Smartt. "And now, 24 years later, this very special group of girls is rewarded with a state championship, also against Germantown. I've received congratulations from a number of people over the past few days, including several members of that 1992 baseball team.
