Warren Arts, 5482 Manchester Highway, is holding a Swims Family Benefit Show and Auction this Sunday, Aug. 4 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Cooper Swims, the 2-year-old son of Mike and Jennifer Swims, passed away last Friday at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt after a swimming pool accident at his home.

All proceeds will go to the Swims family to cover their son’s medical care or any other financial needs they have at this time.

According to Warren Arts representative Kennette Dixon, the show will consist of at least 12 musical acts from Warren Arts stage veterans. There will be a variety of music including kids’ songs and Disney classics to honor Cooper.

“This is one of the sweetest families I’ve ever known,” said Dixon. “Jennifer was in Gilligan’s Island and the cast has stepped up and taken the lead in this event. Our community as a whole has already shown a lot of support for this.”

So far, donated items include services like haircuts and massages, a John Deere mower, handmade furniture, a Citizen’s watch and a large Orion cooler. The silent auction will take place in the lobby. Additionally, there will be a baked goods auction between acts.

Admission is free and monetary donations will be accepted at the door.

There’s still time to contribute. To donate items for the silent auction, private message the Warren Arts Facebook page or leave a message at 668-ARTS.
