Vaccinations now open to all adults

The stipulations are gone.

If you’re a Warren County adult age 18 or older, you are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

“It’s wide open,” said Warren County Health Department representative Barbara Roller, who encourages local residents to get vaccinated. “There are no more phases. All you have to be is 18 or older and we have plenty of appointments available.”

Roller said a person’s occupation or overall health no longer matter for vaccine eligibility. If you’re over 18 and a Warren County resident, you are eligible.

The news comes as more than 20% of Tennesseans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, 830,264 Tennesseans have received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, to be fully inoculated.

The Warren County Health Department has been using the Moderna vaccine, which has been approved for 18 and older. The Pfizer vaccine has gained approval for those 16 and older, but that has not been distributed by our local Health Department.

“Every county in the state hasn’t expanded eligibility the way Warren County has,” said Roller. “Nothing is standing in the way for anyone 18 and older.”

Scheduling an appointment can be done online at covid19.tn.gov. If you don’t have internet access, you can call the Health Department at 473-8468.
